Police Department

VCRN is offering 3 options for Virtual Groups for employees of the James City County Police Department:

2) Monday 2/20 at 12:00 pm
       3) Wednesday 2/22
 at 6:00 pm

After a distressing event, like the shooting on January 25th, it is normal to experience painful emotions, disturbance in sleep, appetite, or mood, or an increase in stress, anxiety, numbness, somatic complaints, or sadness that makes it difficult to cope.

VCRN is offering a virtual group to James City County Police department employees who may be experiencing stress as a result of these recent events. This group will use a protocol that does not require you talk or share your experiences with each other, but has been researched and used successfully around the world to provide relief, often in just one session. This protocol is a powerful tool to provide rapid response to those suffering after a distressing event.

This virtual group will be facilitated by our VCRN licensed, volunteer clinicians, who will assist individuals in reducing the distress of the most upsetting parts of this experience for them. This service is provided free of charge.
